Cloud Computing Application Architect, Lead

The Opportunity:   

Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a cloud computing application architect, you know how to create a cloud-based technical architecture that meets client needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. What if you could use your cloud architecture skills to improve data modernization initiatives supporting Public Health networks? We need you to help us develop cloud-based solutions for some of Public Health’s toughest data modernization efforts.  

As a leader on our team, you’ll design, implement, and manage cloud services management, architecting, and deploying environments for clients to develop their solutions. This is an opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment using cloud capabilities. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with our data modernization team to inform strategy and design and ensure standards are met throughout the cloud migration process.

You’ll recommend tools and solutions based on your research of the environment and knowledge of various on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid resources. You’ll use your experience to guide your team as they help the client overcome their most difficult challenges in the cloud. Additionally, you’ll share your skills in areas like cloud-based solutions, automation, and integrating capabilities to more easily identify area improvements with your team and clients while developing critical systems for the Public Health network.

You Have: 

• 7+ years of experience with configuration cloud administrative environments and tools 

• Experience defining secure-based cloud architecture while adhering to development methodologies, engineering, and cloud standards 

• Experience providing detailed guidance to engineering team members creating in and operating cloud environments

• Experience developing, deploying, and troubleshooting IaaS environments

• Experience working with multiple Cloud Service providers, including Azure, AWS, or on-premises integrations

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have: 

• Experience developing cost management and optimization recommendations for client organizations 

• Experience with CDC administrative processes and procedures 

• Master’s degree in CS

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification 

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Solution Architect Professional Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
