Requirements
  • Three to four years of relevant experience in deductions management, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and understanding of supply chain deduction processes, preferably within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Proficiency in SAP or other enterprise resource planning software, Microsoft Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Ability to manage data, build reports, and use dashboards to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with large volumes of deduction data.
  • Ability to influence and follow up with cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain issues, trends, and recovery status to stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify patterns, root causes, and practical corrective actions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP or other finance systems, Tableau reporting, customer portals, and related tools accurately.
  • Ability to follow established standards and controls, handle sensitive financial information carefully, and disclose errors promptly.
  • Ability to adhere to finance processes, identify errors or bottlenecks, escalate issues, and suggest practical improvements.
Responsibilities
  • Review, validate, and investigate customer compliance deductions and chargebacks, including OTIF claims, shortages, pricing discrepancies, damages, routing fines, ASN or EDI charges, warehouse allowances, and other customer compliance programs.
  • Determine claim validity by reviewing customer agreements, invoices, shipping documents, proof of delivery, scorecards, customer portals, and internal records.
  • Submit disputes and manage recoveries by providing supporting documentation for invalid deductions and managing repayment requests.
  • Identify root causes and support corrective actions across customers, carriers, third-party logistics providers, warehouses, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales, and Commercial teams.
  • Reconcile deduction accounts, including reserves, accruals, repayments, and aging balances, and support month-end close activities, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Support customer audits, compliance and business reviews, system or tool transitions, and cross-functional projects as required.
  • Own assigned deductions, keep status current, follow through on actions, and escalate blockers early.
  • Push assigned deductions to resolution, stay focused on recoveries, and prevent unclear claims from stalling.
  • Build effective partnerships across Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commercial teams, and customers.
  • Use the appropriate document, system, portal, or internal partner to validate claims and move them forward.
  • Understand how customer compliance deductions affect profitability, service performance, controls, and customer relationships.
  • Gather and organize data, identify trends, support reports and dashboards, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Participate in team efforts, share updates, build working relationships, and seek guidance when engaging stakeholders.
  • Share knowledge, contribute to team learning, and help build a collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain an assigned deduction portfolio with clear status, owner, and next action.
  • Support month-end close through timely updates on reserves, accruals, repayments, and aging balances.
  • Identify patterns across OTIF claims, shortages, damages, routing fines, ASN or EDI charges, warehouse allowances, and logistics deductions.
  • Share insights with the appropriate internal partner and track corrective actions until resolved or formally closed.
  • Provide concise updates to Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commercial teams, carriers, third-party logistics providers, warehouses, and external customers.
  • Escalate blockers early with facts, options, and financial impact.
  • Maintain reporting inputs accurately and support dashboards or trackers showing deduction volume, aging, recoveries, disputes, and risk themes.
  • Convert data into clear commentary that helps prioritize action.
  • Follow standard deduction processes and controls, keep documentation audit-ready, flag process gaps or control risks, and support customer audits, compliance reviews, tool transitions, and related finance projects.

  • Experience managing compliance and deduction programs with distributors and major retailers.
  • Experience in supply chain deduction processes within the consumer-packaged goods industry.
  • Experience with SAP preferred over other enterprise resource planning software.
