Salary Range: 110000 to 120000 (Currency: CAD) (Pay period: per-year-salary)
Role:
The Corporate Purchasing Manager is an integral part of the purchasing function in the achievement of operational and financial objectives. With a solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, the candidate will assist in leading, and mentoring a team of procurement specialist overseeing strategic procurement processes for the corporation.
Responsibilities - Operational:
- Ensure compliance of all established Purchasing Policies and procedures.
- Negotiating purchase agreements which could include protein, ingredients, packaging, maintenance/repair/operating supplies, capital equipment, and contracts for services.
- Establishing KPIs for the corporate team; ensure that all specialists meet their personal performance standards; develop capacity and expertise within team.
- Create and manage POs (price, freight, surcharges, etc.) along with proper authorization and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain System Codes and ensure appropriate coding on New Material Requests.
- Assist in maintaining accurate supplier pricing in the system.
Responsibilities - Strategic:
- Develop supply strategies and maintain corporate contracts.
- Develop Protein Supply Strategy.
- Lead all RFP initiatives for services and materials, testing products, evaluating vendors, providing feedback.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
- Meet with new vendors and source substitute products which support cost savings, quality improvement, or overall efficiencies.
- Continually look for process improvements and cost savings opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a management/leadership role.
- Experience within food manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of purchasing standards and policies.
- SCMP Designation or equivalent.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques to maximize the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Able to work and maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized self-starter who can maintain flexibility while consistently applying the company’s policies and procedures.
- Strong in both oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of business, proven ability to communicate in an ESL work environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office applications (word and excel).
- High level of networking and engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
