Lead GIS Analyst

Location: Onsite (Bangalore) | Working Hours: U.S. Shifts

As Stronghold continues to expand its global footprint, we are seeking a Senior GIS Analyst who combines technical expertise with leadership potential. This is a high-impact role suited for professionals who not only excel in geospatial analysis and mapping but also demonstrate initiative, communication excellence, and a deep understanding of how GIS drives business decisions.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment, and is comfortable working with cross-functional U.S.-based teams while mentoring junior talent. Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) or in-house global analytics center is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute advanced GIS analyses, including digitization, spatial analysis, georeferencing, and mapping for oil and gas assets across U.S. basins.
• Support strategic GIS initiatives, partnering with the GIS Bangalore lead, global stakeholders and contributing to decision-making frameworks.
• Design, develop, and maintain web-based GIS applications using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Build and manage robust GIS databases, integrating spatial data from multiple sources to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy.
• Utilize SQL, Arcpy scripting, and ArcGIS tools) to automate workflows, validate datasets, and improve efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with U.S.-based technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements, present findings, and deliver insights.
• Contribute to team development by mentoring junior GIS analysts over time and promoting knowledge sharing and documentation best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent diploma in Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in geospatial analysis, including at least 2–3 years in a in-house capability center (GCC) supporting global teams.
• Proficiency in the ArcGIS suite, with strong skills in mapping, spatial analysis, and web GIS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and Python scripting for GIS data manipulation and automation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to work independently with global teams and present to stakeholders.
• Willingness to work full-time from the office during U.S. business hours.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting land, engineering, or geological teams in the upstream Oil & Gas sector.
• Familiarity with U.S. land records, PLSS, and deed plotting terminology.
• Familiarity with Product Management
• Demonstrated success leading GIS projects or initiatives with cross-functional impact.
