Electrical Technician

About the role
Hix Group is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team in Penrith, NSW. This full-time role is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of Traffic Signals and associated electrical infrastructure. You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our region's transportation network. Hix is a BGIS Business and operates alongside BGIS.

What you'll be doing

• Carry out electrical installations, repairs and maintenance on Traffic Signals and ITS 
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with traffic signal systems and components
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and tasks
• Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders to coordinate work activities
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required standards and regulations
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work undertaken

What we're looking for

• Qualified Electrician with a current Unrestricted Electrician's Licence
• Extensive experience working on traffic signal and road infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, wiring diagrams and traffic signal systems
• Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to work a range of shifts, Inc: Day / Night / Away
