The Role
As an Industrial Engineer at Moxion focusing on the Packaging and Process Engineering,
you will be responsible for establishing efficient material delivery to the factory and to the sub-assembly lines by developing Material Flow processes and systems, maintaining PFEP, calculating storage space requirements, designing material delivery routes, optimizing component packaging, and implementing continuous improvement projects. A successful IE team member will balance short-term tactical improvement with long-term business process and systems improvement.

What You’ll Do:
- Create, maintain and optimize PFEP (Plan for Every Part) with all material flow attributes, and packaging data, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to streamline operations and enhance performance. and maintain the Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
- Engineer all end-to-end Material Flows from supplier receipt to line-side delivery in order to efficiently meet production requirements.
- Design optimized layouts for material storage and processing for multiple warehouse sites, including 3PL, and all manufacturing areas.
- Conducts time studies to determine headcount and equipment requirements.
- Calculate storage space requirements, design material delivery routes, complete dock utilization analysis, and support dynamic simulations.
- Own all material flow and packaging requirements and organize reviews and buyoffs of prototype units during pilot builds.
- Interface with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations partners to gather and develop packaging requirements.
- Develop world-class packaging standards and provide design direction and development plans of protective packaging containers, dunnage and unique shipping racks.
- Drive expendable to returnable projects and participate in sustainability initiatives.
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects to improve efficiency of material handling processes and drive cost reductions.
Skills to be Successful:
- Industrial or manufacturing engineering experience with emphasis on packaging, process engineering, material flow (internship experience may be considered)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills, demonstrating a high degree of emotional intelligence, autonomy, and servant leadership.
- Experience in warehouse or factory layout/design and optimization.
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Experience in packaging design and optimization.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working with 3PL partners to develop cost effective storage/logistics solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing optimized simulation models.
- Six Sigma certification.
- Knowledge of software such as simulation modeling software (FlexSim), data visualization software (Tableau), design software (SolidWorks, CATIA), and programming languages (SQL, Python, MATLAB, VBA).
- BS or MS Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and/or equivalent experience.
Pay Equity

Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
