GE Vernova is a global energy company created in 2024 to support the electricity grid and the energy transition, with three focuses: Power, Wind, and Electrification. It sells large-scale equipment, signs long-term service agreements, and provides software to utilities, independent power producers, grid operators, and large industrial energy users. Its products include H-Class gas turbines that can burn natural gas with blends of hydrogen toward 100% hydrogen, Haliade-X offshore wind turbines up to 14.7 MW, and GridOS software that unifies grid data to help manage networks and integrate renewables. By combining hardware, services, and software under GE heritage, it aims to meet rising electricity demand while accelerating decarbonization across global energy systems.

GE Vernova books $176B backlog with 134% gas order growth as Eaton rides 65% data center surge

GE Vernova and Eaton released second-quarter 2026 results highlighting surging demand from AI infrastructure buildout. Vernova reported $5.50 billion in Power segment revenue with gas equipment orders up 134% organically. The company booked $2.7 billion in data centre orders during the quarter alone and expects to reach at least 125 gigawatts of gas equipment under contract by year-end. Total backlog stands at $176 billion. Eaton posted revenue of $8.531 billion, up 21.39%, with adjusted earnings per share of $3.15. Data centre revenue grew roughly 65% in both its Electrical Americas and Electrical Global divisions. GE Vernova deploys AirJoule water generation system at Frontier Campus research centre

GE Vernova has installed AirJoule Technologies' atmospheric water generation system at its Advanced Research Center Frontier Campus. This marks the first publicly disclosed collaboration between the two companies at this scale. The system provides a live demonstration of technology designed to address water and energy needs for industrial facilities and data centres. GE Vernova is using its Frontier Campus to showcase applied research in power and energy infrastructure. The deployment forms part of broader industry efforts to tackle water use, energy efficiency, and resiliency challenges facing heavy facilities and data centres. The installation gives GE Vernova a reference point when engaging industrial, utility, and data centre customers facing water and grid constraints. The collaboration may support GE Vernova's positioning in power infrastructure projects addressing resource-constrained environments.

GE Vernova raises 2026 guidance as revenue hits $11.1B, orders surge 88%

GE Vernova reported mixed second-quarter 2026 results, missing earnings expectations but beating revenue estimates. The company posted revenues of $11.1 billion, up 22% year over year, driven by equipment growth in its Power and Electrification segments. Orders surged 88% organically to $24.2 billion, whilst backlog grew by $13 billion sequentially. The Power segment saw orders jump 134% organically, with revenues increasing 14% to $5.5 billion. GE's $593B comeback: How CEO Larry Culp pulled off history's greatest turnaround

GE CEO Larry Culp has orchestrated what many industry leaders consider the greatest corporate turnaround in modern business history. When he took over in 2018, GE's market capitalisation stood at $96 billion, down over 80% from its 2000 peak, with $150 billion in crushing debt. Today, the three companies Culp created from GE's breakup — GE Aerospace, GE Vernova, and GE HealthCare — have a combined market value of $689 billion. The trio has delivered annualised returns of roughly 30% since Culp's arrival, double the S&P 500's performance. GE Vernova has jumped over 600% whilst GE Aerospace has risen more than 160%. Culp's approach centred on lean manufacturing principles learnt from the Toyota Production System. He decentralised operations, eliminated three-quarters of central staff positions, and fostered a culture encouraging managers to spotlight problems rather than successes.

GE Vernova shares drop 4% as Q2 profit misses estimates despite raising revenue outlook to $46B

GE Vernova shares dropped nearly 4% on Wednesday after the energy equipment company reported second-quarter adjusted profit below Wall Street expectations. Net income rose to $649 million, or $2.47 per share, from $492 million a year earlier, while revenue increased 22% to $11.1 billion. Adjusted EBITDA totalled $1.25 billion, missing analyst forecasts. The Wind segment posted a wider EBITDA loss of $275 million, with revenue declining nearly 10% due to lower onshore equipment volumes and higher offshore project costs. GE Vernova raised its 2026 revenue forecast to $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion and increased its free cash flow outlook to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion. Total orders nearly doubled to $24.2 billion from $12.4 billion year-on-year. Global tariffs are expected to add $100 million to $200 million in costs during 2026.
