Requirements
  • One to three years of strong manufacturing experience with a focus on milling, turning, and grooving.
  • Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to assist customers with processing parts and applying tools correctly.
  • Ability to assist customers with proper speeds and feeds for the materials used.
  • Experience managing current customer accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments and meet existing customers to review applications and product requirements and identify opportunities.
  • Plan and conduct sales presentations by meeting customers in person on a daily basis.
  • Liaise between the company and customers regarding pricing, service, and product launches.
  • Generate and develop prospect accounts to increase revenue by partnering with the distribution chain.
  • Keep customers informed about product modifications, changes, and enhancements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of new products, procedures, services, and tools by attending departmental and training meetings.
  • Attend conferences and trade shows.
  • Use marketing data and relevant sales management tools to maximize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Organize joint sales calls and attend them with distributors.
  • Prepare reports for sales and marketing and maintain expense accounts.
  • Update and maintain customer accounts, including contact names and telephone numbers, for future sales.
  • Provide product quotes to customers with assistance from inside sales support.
  • Follow up after passing leads to managers with complete customer profile information, calls to action, sources, and dates.
Desired Qualifications

  • Experience processing customer parts from drawing to finished product.
  • A degree in any field of sales and marketing.
  • Job shop experience.

Sandvik acquires South African mining simulator firm ThoroughTec for undisclosed sum

Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire ThoroughTec Simulation, a South Africa-based provider of equipment simulators and training systems for the mining industry. The company will be reported within Sandvik's Parts and Services division. ThoroughTec develops OEM-agnostic training simulators and offers a training management system to help mining customers improve productivity, operator safety and reduce maintenance costs. The acquisition will combine ThoroughTec's simulators with Sandvik's digital solutions to enable customised, data-driven operator training programmes. Headquartered in Durban, ThoroughTec employs over 200 people and generated revenues of around SEK 170 million in 2025. The purchase price was not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Sandvik AB is set to release its Q4 2025 earnings on 27 January 2026. The consensus estimate forecasts revenue of $3.28 billion and earnings of $0.34 per share for the quarter.
