Requirements
  • A degree in the required discipline, identified as Physical Therapist.
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist Assistant, or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or eligibility to obtain the license.
  • At least 3–5 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation or a related healthcare field.
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team of therapists and support staff.
  • Deep understanding of rehabilitation principles, practices, and patient care protocols.
  • Written and verbal communication skills for interacting with staff, patients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Decision-making and critical-thinking skills to address challenges and improve operations.
  • Ability to manage schedules, resources, and budgets efficiently.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable laws.
Responsibilities
  • Directly manage and supervise clinical therapy staff, including hiring, performance appraisals, and fostering a positive team atmosphere.
  • Monitor personnel compliance and credentials, and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload and ensure the delivery of high-quality therapy services in compliance with regulatory standards, including the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and The Joint Commission.
  • Conduct reviews of therapy programs and services to assess effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop strategies to expand therapy programs, including building caseloads and implementing special initiatives such as fitness or dementia programs.
  • Lead marketing efforts with local hospitals, physicians, and the community to promote the therapy program.
  • Oversee scheduling of patients and therapists to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Track and report assessment-period data, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to Medicare and company guidelines.
  • Investigate and resolve patient, staff, or service-related issues.
  • Provide ongoing education and in-service training to staff and community members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations governing rehabilitation services.
  • Ensure a safe environment by complying with infection-control requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, and proper use of tools and equipment.
