Requirements
  • Completion of a Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy program.
  • No experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • ARRT-R Radiography, ARRT-T Radiation Therapy, ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist, or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification is required, depending on the qualifying pathway.
  • ARRT-CT Computed Tomography or a Computed Tomography credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board is required.
  • Illinois roles require the applicable Illinois Emergency Management Agency radiologic technologist credential; Wisconsin roles require a Wisconsin licensed radiographer credential.
  • The required CT credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Perform computerized tomographic procedures for the diagnosis of disease and injury according to protocols established by radiologists, excluding biopsy procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients and accurately select anatomic and technical parameters.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
