Requirements
  • 3+ years industry or national lab experience in experimental work with quantum systems
  • Detailed knowledge of quantum systems and corresponding control hardware
  • Familiarity with scientific programming for data acquisition and analysis
  • Experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and reports
  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics with at least 3 years of experience working with quantum hardware, or B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Physics with at least 4 years of experience working with quantum hardware
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required
Responsibilities
  • Conduct low-noise, cryogenic experiments on sensitive spin qubit devices
  • Develop new measurement techniques and methods
  • Analyze results and write script level code to support experimental development and data analysis
  • Report findings to other team members in oral presentations and written reports
  • Collaborate with measurement-system-engineering team to identify and implement improvements to qubit-control, interconnect, and environmental subsystems
  • Analyze measurement results through application of relevant theory and modeling to define approaches for further device improvements in performance and/or yield
