Requirements
  • Current OH Certified Medication Aide Certification (CMA)
  • Current, active Ohio Certified Nursing Assistant CNA/STNA Certification. Must be on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry
  • High school diploma desired
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records; PCC experience highly preferred
  • Ohio active CMA (Certified Medication Aide) certification, CPR and active Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA certification
  • At least 12 months of direct care as a Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA/STNA; long term care experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and administer medication as ordered by physician including oral and topical medications, nasal drops and sprays, ointments to eyes, ears or nose, inhalants delivered by inhalers, nebulizers or aerosols that allow for a single dose of a fixed, premeasured amount of medication, rectal and vaginal medications
  • Administer previously ordered pro re nata (PRN) medication only if authorization is obtained from the licensed nurse on duty or on call
  • Document in a resident’s clinical record all medications that the CMA personally administered, observations, and information reported by the resident
  • Report to the licensed nurse any abnormalities that would prohibit medication administration, any reactions and side effects, and any refusal by a resident to comply with medication administration
  • Perform Treatments
  • Count, administer and document-controlled substances
  • Provide direct nursing care to the elders and residents as a CNA/STNA when not performing CMA duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • PCC experience highly preferred
  • Long term care experience preferred
