Requirements
  • A minimum bachelor's degree in architecture or an equivalent related field is required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience is required.
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience with Revit is required; educational experience may be included.
  • Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Candidates must be proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
  • Candidates must be fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Candidates must complete an online assessment test if requested.
  • Candidates should be prepared to undergo a background check and complete a 4-panel drug screening, which may include professional reference, credit, criminal history, social media, education, certification, and employment verifications.
Responsibilities
  • Discuss building and zoning code issues involving grey areas with the project team as directed by the supervisor.
  • Bring new design ideas, thoughts, and details to the team based on prior experience and current research, and discuss or showcase them during design meetings or lunch-and-learns.
  • Develop and participate in presentations to the design team, including the Architect Project Manager, Project Designers, other Architects, third-party consultants, Design and Technical Director, and Design Director.
  • Produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and building information modeling systems, and explore additional applicable system capabilities.
  • Control access to original drawings and architectural files to ensure authorized personnel can access them easily.
  • Prepare construction drawings based on approved site plans, unit floor plans, and building floor plans in accordance with project schedules and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate preliminary site plans with a senior architect using owner-provided criteria covering topography, surveys, easement setbacks, dedications, legal descriptions, and local jurisdiction development standards.
  • Review grading and drainage plans for compliance with established design requirements and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in weekly request for information and design/coordination meetings.
  • Support projects while developing an understanding of company standards and procedures.
  • Assist with site observations during construction.
  • Help prepare reports documenting conformance with contract documents and perform related construction-process tasks in association with the architect of record.
  • Provide weekly reports to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate and respond to architectural issues, including requests for information, submittals, and change orders, in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with outside consultants, including local architects, building departments, fire departments, engineers, and surveyors, as directed by the supervisor.
  • Serve as the design contact with outside consultants as directed by the supervisor.
  • Monitor outside consultants' work to ensure timely completion.
  • Comply with all Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and work with the Technical Director and senior-level architects to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with quality-control plan reviews.
  • Review consultants' drawings for accuracy before distribution to other companies or submission to permitting or approval authorities.
  • Follow design policies and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork with coworkers, outside consultants, and other entities to achieve timely completion in accordance with project schedules.
  • Represent the company professionally.
  • Maintain punctuality, adjust schedules to meet timelines, keep the schedule current, review it weekly, and coordinate priorities to complete department-schedule items and emergency needs.
