Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required.

  • The employee must be able to work on campus, respond quickly to emergencies, serve on call for 24-hour periods, work the month of August, and work occasional evening and weekend hours, including opening and closing academic terms.
Responsibilities
  • Direct daily operations for a large and complex housing system and business enterprise serving more than 5,400 students and overseeing annual revenue responsibility exceeding $58 million.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify long-term academic housing occupancy management goals, including renovation and replacement planning for residential housing buildings.
  • Make operational decisions regarding academic housing and maximize occupancy through policy standards, strategic plans, occupancy management, housing retention forecasting, specialized accommodation planning, and housing operations structuring.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues and escalate them to the Executive Director as necessary.
  • Develop relationships with campus partners and use technology to support the housing mission.
  • Support housing-rate development and communications with the Director for Business Development and Summer and Conference Housing.
  • Present information about on-campus housing to parents, prospective students, and University departments.
  • Design and implement an inclusive residential environment conducive to learning and engagement.
  • Respond to student and campus-wide emergencies and manage crises in residence halls in coordination with University personnel.
  • Make hiring decisions and manage, coach, train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of employees within the unit.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development and Summer and Conference Housing to maximize use of the Hilltop residential portfolio while accommodating planned renovations and revitalization.
  • Work with University offices to develop policies, procedures, and residential environments affecting undergraduate student life.
  • Implement measures to ensure team members meet occupancy and customer satisfaction goals while prioritizing student and guest safety and needs.
  • Execute compliance with local and federal regulations to support equitable access to housing.
  • Integrate systems and processes and participate in campus-wide committees.
  • Serve as a liaison with Student Affairs, University Counsel, the Academic Resource Center, Georgetown University Police, the Office of Global Education, the School of Continuing Studies, and University Information Systems.
  • Communicate with parents, students, and partner offices and engage department personnel to accomplish goals and objectives.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience using the StarRez housing management system is strongly preferred.
