A Day in the Life
This Role will be the OpEx point of contact for two small sites located in Plymouth, MN. The focus will be to partner with site leadership to drive improvement across the Value Streams.
Deploy Medtronic Performance System across site including Strategy Excellence, Value Stream Excellence, Innovation Excellence, Quality Excellence, Improvement Excellence, Maintenance Excellence, Continuous Skills Development, Zero Loss and EHS Performance System.
Technical expert in DMAIC methodology driving Lean Manufacturing tools and principles including set-up reduction, standardized work, value stream mapping, Heijunka and A3 thinking, has general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Develop and maintain Value Stream Maps and facilitate Kaizen events across the Value Stream.
Delivers DMAIC, Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training & Coaching.
Perform time studies, ergonomic/safety assessments, process flow analysis, line balancing, and productivity evaluations for all production areas and implement identified improvements as part of standard work.
Support the identification and implementation of Programmatic Savings initiatives.
Establish, maintain, and improve labor standards, line layouts, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Perform financial analysis for capital equipment purchases, product cost reduction projects, and quality initiatives, and provide recommendations.
Develop and maintain capacity models for all plant products and processes.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations.
- Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
- On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods.
- May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities.
Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$76,000 - $114,000The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
