Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Must be licensed to practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in Florida.
  • Must specialize in infusion therapy and the intravenous administration of biologics and other necessary medications.
  • Must complete license verification, a criminal background check, and drug screening.
  • Must comply with continuing and mandatory education requirements.
  • Must practice nursing within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
  • Intravenous experience is mandatory.
  • Must be credentialed with insurance payors.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide infusion medical treatment, response management, and post-care for patients after receiving a physician order.
  • Administer and monitor patients during treatment at the infusion center.
  • Educate patients on treatment regimens, condition management, and treatment side effects when appropriate.
  • Initiate and implement nursing plans of treatment and evaluate patient progress toward goals.
  • Organize and participate in direct patient care, perform treatments, administer medications, and educate patients and families or caregivers.
  • Modify treatment plans in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals.
  • Assess patient needs and physical status at each visit through health data access and patient interviews.
  • Re-evaluate patient needs through physical reassessment, response to therapy, and supplemental physician orders.
  • Clarify physician orders for treatment-plan revisions, promptly inform physicians of significant changes in patient condition, and provide written summaries to physicians within supplemental orders.
  • Provide patient- and family-centered teaching to support independence with prescribed therapy and care needs.
  • Communicate with the internal clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families or caregivers to facilitate continuity of care.
  • Prepare clinical documentation in real time during visits and sign off on treatment to comply with timelines for billing.
  • Comply with internal policies and procedures, professional standards, applicable regulations and guidelines, and accreditation standards.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to patient needs and initiate emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain ethical and professional conduct and accountability for personal practice.
  • Safeguard confidential patient and proprietary information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Complete required training modules, in-services, and continuing education to maintain clinical competency and professional licensure.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences.
  • Provide mentoring to other nurses for orientation and supervisory activities as assigned.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of paraprofessionals.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
  • Emergency-room experience is highly preferred.
