Caris Life Sciences Stock is up 65% in Three Months, but its valuation multiple just got cheaper.

Caris Life Sciences Stock is up 65% in Three Months, but its valuation multiple just got cheaper. Last updated Aug 24, 2026 Key Takeaways for Caris Life Sciences Stock as of August 2026. * Three-Month Run: Caris Life Sciences stock has climbed 65% since late May, closing at $26.27 on August 21 after a 45% year-over-year Q2 revenue beat flipped the growth story into a profitability story. * Street Split: 9 buys, 1 outperform, 3 holds among 12 analysts. * Model Upside: TIKR's mid-case valuation model targets $100 by December 2030, implying a 281% total return, or 36% annualized, from today's price. * Target Lag: The Street's mean target fell from $39 in September 2025 to $27 today, so this rally closed the valuation gap mostly through price appreciation rather than analysts raising numbers. Why Caris Life Sciences Stock Jumped 65% in Three Months. Caris Life Sciences (CAI) stock has climbed 65% since late May, closing at $26.27 on August 21 after a second-quarter report that turned a cash-burn growth story into a profitable one. The company posted revenue of $263.7 million on August 5, up 45% year over year, and narrowed its net loss to $0.6 million from $71.8 million a year earlier. That swing did the heavy lifting. Adjusted EBITDA rose to $55.7 million from $16.7 million a year ago, and Caris Life Sciences raised its full-year revenue guidance to a range of $1.03 billion to $1.04 billion, up from a prior $1 billion to $1.02 billion. Clinical case volume hit a record 59,200, up 18% year over year, driven by a sales force that grew past 300 reps. Vice Chairman and EVP Brian Brille put the inflection plainly on the Q2 earnings call: "Notably, this is our fifth consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA and positive free cash flow, and it provides us with valuable strategic flexibility for ongoing investment in our platform, new products and new channels such as MCED." That streak is what separated this print from prior quarters where growth came bundled with widening losses. Wall Street split on how far to take that story. BTIG lifted its target to $33 and Evercore ISI moved to $26 within two days of the report, while JPMorgan cut its target to $25 from $30 the same week. Caris Life Sciences stock kept climbing anyway, adding a further 6.88% on August 21 alone to close at $26.27, with no fresh company announcement that day. Even after the rally, Caris Life Sciences stock's NTM price to normalized earnings multiple has actually compressed, from 99 times on June 30 to 92x on August 21, the same three-month stretch in which the stock climbed 65%. That multiple was negative a year earlier and spiked above 719x in December 2025, when forward earnings estimates were still near zero, before settling in the 90 to 120 range as those estimates turned durably positive. The 65% move traded almost entirely on rising earnings estimates, not on investors paying more for the same dollar of forward profit. The 65% run reflects a business the market now believes can fund its own growth, not a name still chasing the multiple it had in May. Caris Life Sciences stock's earnings turn is the reason for the move. What comes next depends on whether the Street or the model has the longer horizon right. Caris Life Sciences Stock's Target Gap Has Nearly Closed. Wall Street's current read on Caris Life Sciences stock splits 9 buys, 1 outperform, and 3 holds across 12 analysts, with a mean target of $27 sitting just 3% above the $26.27 close. That gap has not always been this tight. The mean target stood at $39 in September 2025, fell to $38 by year end, then to $28 by June 2026 as the stock itself cratered to $17.82. evAnalysts were cutting numbers through the first half of the year almost as fast as the stock was falling. What changed since is the price, not the target: the mean has actually edged down further, from $28 to $27, even as Caris Life Sciences stock rallied 65% off its lows. Coverage grew from 8 analysts a year ago to 12 today, and holds appeared for the first time this cycle, growing to 3. The August run closed the valuation gap almost entirely through price catching up to a target range the Street had already set months earlier. TIKR's $100 Target Prices In Caris Life Sciences Stock's MCED Ramp. TIKR's mid-case model values Caris Life Sciences stock at $100 by December 2030, implying a 281% total return from the current price of $26.27, or 36% annualized over the next 4.4 years. That annualized rate sits well above what a mature diagnostics name typically offers investors, reflecting a model still treating Caris Life Sciences as an early-stage compounder rather than a business trading on this quarter's earnings alone. The gap between TIKR's $100 target and the Street's $27 mean target comes down to time horizon. Sell-side targets rarely price a stock more than 12 months out, while TIKR's model extends through the ramp of Caris Detect, the 58-cancer multi-cancer early detection test that launched in June and that management already flags as running ahead of lab capacity. AI model predicts late breast cancer recurrence risk from standard pathology images

Caris Life Sciences has published research demonstrating a multimodal AI approach to predict late distant recurrence risk in hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer. The study appeared in Cancer Research Communications. The research, conducted with ECOG-ACRIN and NRG Oncology, integrated digitised pathology images with clinical data to generate risk predictions. The model was developed using specimens from 2,271 patients and validated in an independent cohort of 4,300 patients from the TAILORx study. In validation, the model identified a 10-year absolute distant recurrence risk difference of nearly 8% between high- and low-risk groups. It independently predicted late recurrence risk even after accounting for established clinical factors and the Oncotype DX Recurrence Score. The AI-based approach could offer a more accessible alternative to existing genomic assays by leveraging routinely available pathology slides, potentially helping oncologists identify patients at elevated risk and inform extended endocrine therapy decisions.

Caris Life Sciences launches PTEN IHC testing for metastatic prostate cancer precision treatment

Caris Life Sciences announced it will offer in-house PTEN immunohistochemistry testing following recent FDA approval of a biomarker-guided therapy for metastatic prostate cancer. The testing helps identify patients with PTEN-deficient metastatic androgen pathway modulation-naïve or -sensitive prostate cancer who are eligible for newly approved biomarker-guided therapy. Prostate cancer affects more than 300,000 new cases annually in the US. One in four patients with this type of metastatic prostate cancer have PTEN-deficient tumours, which are associated with faster progression and worse outcomes. The FDA approved capivasertib, combined with abiraterone and prednisone, for adults with PTEN-deficient tumours. Caris' testing will be performed in its CAP-accredited, CLIA-certified laboratories to deliver results efficiently for clinical decision-making. The company's molecular profiling portfolio includes MI Cancer Seek, Caris Assure, and Caris Detect, amongst other diagnostic solutions.

Caris Life Sciences begins commercial launch of multi-cancer early detection blood test.

Caris Life Sciences begins commercial launch of multi-cancer early detection blood test. "We are giving physicians and patients a powerful new tool to help identify cancer earlier and support more informed clinical decisions," CEO David Dean Halbert says of Caris Detect. Caris Life Sciences has begun the commercial launch of a blood test designed to detect early signals for multiple types of cancer. [Photo: Caris Life Sciences] Irving-based Caris Life Sciences began the commercial launch of Caris Detect, a blood test designed to detect signals for multiple types of cancer earlier than previously possible. Early detection is key to improving cancer outcomes for patients. Overall five-year cancer survival has climbed to 70%, according to the American Cancer Society's Cancer Facts & Figures 2026 report. Yet individual results vary widely depending on timing. Patients whose cancer is localized have a 92% five-year survival rate. That survival rate drops to 69% for those whose cancer is regional and to 35% for those whose cancer has spread to distant parts of the body. Caris Detect pairs an analysis of the entire genome with advanced AI trained on 50 billion molecular markers from more than 1 million patient cases. "Early detection remains one of the most urgent and consequential challenges in oncology," David Dean Halbert, founder, chairman and CEO, said in a statement. "Caris Detect represents a major step forward in our mission to transform cancer care through the most advanced molecular science available. By combining unmatched biological depth with sophisticated AI, we are giving physicians and patients a powerful new tool to help identify cancer earlier and support more informed clinical decisions." How patients can use the new test Caris Detect is available through physicians. Patients go to an approved lab for their blood draw, and the lab then sends the Caris Detect kit to Caris for processing. Caris then sends the results to the patient and health-care provider. The test returns one of three possible results. If it doesn't detect a cancer signal, Caris recommends patients continue with their routine screening schedule. An atypical signal indicates a minor abnormality. For these, Caris provides complimentary repeat testing approximately three months after the initial result and recommends that providers establish a monitoring plan. If the test detects a cancer signal, Caris provides additional support including referrals and recommendations for next steps. A North Texas life sciences leader Since its founding in 2008, Caris Life Sciences has made its mark as a pioneer in bringing a combination of genetic sequencing, AI, machine learning and other advancements to the field of precision medicine. In addition to its Irving headquarters, Caris has established offices in Phoenix, New York, Cambridge, Massachusetts, Tokyo and Basel, Switzerland. The company raised nearly $2 billion before going public on the Nasdaq in June 2025, with investors including Sixth Street, Braidwell LP, Perceptive Advisors, Woodline, Ghisallo, Millennium Management and First Light Asset Management. In June, Caris added a dual listing of its common stock on NYSE Texas. "Establishing a dual listing on NYSE Texas reflects both our continued growth as a public company and our deep roots in Texas, including our headquarters and over 450 Caris employees in the state," Halbert said. "This milestone underscores our commitment to innovation, our heritage in Texas and our mission to improve the lives of patients through precision medicine." When it announced its first-quarter earnings in May, Caris Life Sciences reaffirmed its guidance for full-year 2026 revenue to be in the range of $1.0 billion to $1.02 billion. That would be 23% to 26% higher than in 2025.

Caris Life Sciences launches Caris Detect, world's most sensitive multi-cancer early detection blood test

Caris Life Sciences has launched Caris Detect, a multi-cancer early detection blood test that combines ultra-deep whole genome and whole transcriptome sequencing with artificial intelligence. The company claims it is the world's most sensitive and comprehensive cancer detection technology. Unlike existing approaches that examine limited genomic changes, Caris Detect analyses the full spectrum of genomic and molecular signals, including DNA, RNA and other biological patterns. The test is powered by Caris' molecular profiling database containing over one million cases and 50 billion molecular markers. The launch follows the Caris Detect ACHIEVE 1 study, which demonstrated strong performance in detecting cancer signals across multiple cancer types. The Irving, Texas-based precision medicine company aims to establish the test as a new standard of care for early cancer detection.
