How you will add value: Improve Aura’s analysis and forecasting of sales across its online and wholesale channels. You will be responsible for all demand planning duties including estimating future product demand, analyzing inventory flow, and developing forecast models.
What Excites You About an Opportunity:
- Develop effective forecast models based on historical sales, changes in channel mix or composition, changes in pricing or product attributes, and industry trends.
- Where appropriate, build more detailed demand forecasts using high-level forecasts provided by wholesale and ecommerce teams.
- Assess impact of marketing initiatives (by Aura and its retailer partners) on the volume and timing of sales.
- Model sell-in, sell-through, and drop-ship volumes by retailer using Aura’s existing tools (such as Metabase business intelligence platform); build new tools and techniques where appropriate.
- Forecast sales (units and dollars) by SKU by channel (individual retailers, amazon.com, auraframes.com) by month/week/day, in each market (US, Canada, UK, France, Germany).
- Estimate demand for warranty-replacement units based on observed and forecast failure rates by SKU and cohort.
- Collaborate with forecast teams at Aura’s retail partners to share and refine projections and reach consensus on forecasted sales volumes and timing.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
- Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
- Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
- Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner.

- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent spreadsheet skills.
