- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified from an accredited Surgical Technician program or documented relevant experience.
- Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
- Demonstrates skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
- Performs scrubbing and assisting duties within and support of the sterile field during operative procedures.
- Assures proper care and maintenance of all surgical instrumentation and equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of principles and practices of aseptic technique.
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment, instruments, procedures, implants and supplies used in the operating room.
- Able to work at an accelerated pace and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina, and endurance.
- Ensures materials and instruments for procedures are ordered and available as needed.
- Previous experience is preferred.
