Requirements
  • Hold a science or applied science degree and have extensive experience with laboratory quality management systems.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 15189, NATA accreditation, and microbiology regulatory requirements, including DAFF and SSBA.
  • Use data, systems, and reporting tools to identify insights and drive efficiency in quality and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships across scientific, technical, and external stakeholder groups.
  • Manage competing priorities with strong time management, analytical skills, and meticulous attention to regulatory detail.
  • Use advanced computer literacy and quality or business systems, ideally including digital automation and emerging artificial intelligence tools.
  • Have current valid work rights for Australia.
  • Obtain a Working with Children Check.
  • Submit a resume, cover letter, and a separate document addressing the selection criteria.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System, aligning it with ISO and NATA requirements.
  • Design and implement quality frameworks, audits, and corrective actions to strengthen compliance across MDU PHL services.
  • Provide expert advice, training, and mentorship on quality systems to staff and partner laboratories locally and internationally.
  • Collaborate with information technology and scientific leads to deliver digital, data-informed, and artificial-intelligence-enabled operational improvements.
  • Support broader laboratory operations, governance, and risk management, including performance monitoring and stakeholder engagement.
