Genuine Parts Company reported second-quarter sales of $6.53bn, up 6% year-on-year from $6.16bn. The growth stemmed from a 3.4% increase in comparable sales, 1.4% from favourable currency movements, and 1.2% from acquisitions. Net income fell to $227.5m from $254.8m, whilst diluted earnings per share dropped to $1.65 from $1.83. On an adjusted basis, net income rose to $296.2m. The company lowered its full-year diluted EPS guidance to $5.9-$6.4, down from $6.1-$6.6, citing restructuring expenses related to its planned business separation.
