Hiring Unit: Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE)

Course Description:

EDEM 681-031 Practicum - Administrative Studies

Focuses on field studies and applied research, including the preparation of a research report. Using case studies and problem-based learning, students will draw from practical and/or contextual examples to understand educational leadership in context.

Term: Winter 2026

Course Credits: 3

Location: Online - No room needed

Schedule: Wednesday, 05:35 pm-08:25 pm

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education

• Master educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e. educational leadership or school administration) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school leader

• PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an asset

Experience

1. Expert knowledge of:

• Theory and practice of educational leadership in Quebec and Canadian contexts

• Educational leadership in contemporary educational settings including but not limited to elementary and high schools and alternative schools

• Wide range of different theories of educational leadership

2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level

3. Experience as a school administrator or institutional leader in the Quebec educational system

Other

• Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusion

• Familiarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences

• Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset

• Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning tools
