Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on networking experience.
- 10 years of general Information Technology experience.
- 5 years of Cisco routing and switching experience.
- 5 years of VLAN management experience.
- 2 years of network design experience.
- 5 years of subnetting experience.
- 3 years of routing protocols experience, including Border Gateway Protocol and Open Shortest Path First.
- 2 years of integration troubleshooting experience.
- Experience in technical services and support fields and network administration, including Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, Domain Name System, routers, and firewalls.
- Ability to work independently on medium-complexity work efforts and collaboratively with others.
- Ability to manage time and resource constraints.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and support local area networks, wide area networks, Internet systems, and network segments.
- Maintain network hardware and software and perform maintenance to support network availability.
- Monitor networks to ensure availability to system users and prepare and analyze network utilization and availability statistics.
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of local area and wide area networks.
- Maintain the physical and logical network structures, network connections, network support software, inventory, maintenance records, architecture documentation, and change histories.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
- Install, test, configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware, software, communications infrastructure, and replacement equipment.
- Prepare training courses and provide user support and training on available hardware, software, and utilities.
- Perform network tuning and capacity planning to improve network resource performance.
- Assess existing networks, software, and solutions and make recommendations based on product specifications and cybersecurity practices.
- Configure equipment and software to meet business needs, train others on solutions, and document solutions for ongoing support.
- Provide technical support and assist with infrastructure solution design.
- Respond to Tier 1 and Tier 2 network and software support requests and break/fix requests involving network resources.
- Design extensions of and connections to the campus network.
- Monitor network resources for faults and traffic anomalies.
- Resolve connection issues between users and resources.
- Support ITS Field Maintenance with communications implementation and troubleshooting.
- Support efforts to improve cybersecurity controls and defenses and conduct threat hunting and mitigation.

- 2 years of network security experience.
- 2 years of Domain Name System and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol experience.
- 2 years of network monitoring experience.
- 2 years of network cable management experience.
- 2 years of Cisco Firepower Management Center and Firepower experience.
- 3 years of solutions design and build experience.
- 2 years of cybersecurity experience.
- 2 years of software integration experience.
- Leadership skills and qualities.
