What you will do:  

Rumble is seeking an experienced Cloud Storage Engineer who will be responsible for developing reference architectures, getting deployments into production, and operational duties of our Ceph open-source infrastructure.

In this key role you will be responsible for:

• Installation and management of large-scale Ceph clusters in public and private cloud environments
• Management and troubleshooting of Ceph core services
• Assisting customers with storage requests
• Integrating block, file, and object storage capabilities with OpenStack as well as Kubernetes platforms
• Linux OS performance tuning of bare metal and virtualized clusters
• Creation of patching strategies, and primary oversight of pushing updates into production
• Developing monitoring and alerting solutions using Ceph manager plugins
• Provide industry best practice recommendations and guidance to management/peers
• Implementing custom CRUSH rules to provide multi-tier (HDD, SSD, NVME) backends
• Other duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Ceph SME expertise with design, rollout, and support of Ceph in large-scale production environments
• Proven track record deploying and managing RGWs in multisite configuration
• Working knowledge of all Ceph core services and clients
• Experience integrating Ceph with OpenStack and Kubernetes platforms
• Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver sound results
• Proficient communicator who is capable of presenting information at all levels of the organization
• Willingness to learn, be challenged and have fun in a dynamic and fast paced environment

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience with Zabbix, Prometheus and/or other monitoring solutions
• Working knowledge of markup languages, scripting in bash, and one of the following programming languages: Golang, Python, Perl, or C++
• Experience with configuration management tools such as: Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform, to provide repeatable idempotent results
