Requirements
  • 2 to 5 years experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in a Capital Equipment Manufacturing environment
  • Familiar utilizing CAD systems and providing DFX for various mechanical and electrical designs
  • Strong history of CAD modeling and drawing creation with GD&T
  • Experience through the full product lifecycle, from concept through production
  • Hands-on experience with building and assembly
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and optical assemblies and systems
  • Able to write manufacturing and test procedures
  • Reading schematics and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Digital Multi-Meter and other electronic test equipment use
  • Understanding of circuits to troubleshoot power, resistance, current issues
  • Knowledge of sensors and mechanical/electrical tool use
Responsibilities
  • Work with CAD in collaboration with hardware, software, process, and applications engineering on DFX initiatives
  • Develop, document, and deploy unit tests for mechanical, electrical and optical components and subsystems
  • Train technical staff at vendors and within Velo3D
  • Work with vendors to introduce new product, implement change orders, develop testing, and improve quality, cost, and delivery
  • Troubleshoot electrical, optical, and mechanical issues on the production floor
  • Propose and deliver continuous improvement projects using Lean principles
  • Guide new product introduction to manufacturing from prototype through production release
  • Create and update assembly and testing documentation
  • Participate actively in design review meetings
  • Create ECO’s and follow through the CCB process
  • Involved with MRB activities and disposition of material on Production floor
