Responsibilities
  • Makes patient appointments according to provider schedule protocol
  • Makes patient appointment reminder calls and reschedules patients as needed
  • Greets and registers or checks in all patients who arrive at the practice or clinic
  • Verifies demographic information and enters it into the patient record
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information
  • Verifies insurance coverage information and collects co-pays or other payments
  • Prepares daily cash reconciliation and prepares daily deposit and reconciliation report
  • Receives and relays messages between providers and patients and logs them accurately according to practice protocol in the proper messaging record system
  • Provides other clerical support to the practice office including typing correspondence and reports, sorting and delivering mail, processing incoming and outgoing faxes and ordering and maintaining supplies
