Requirements
  • Experience with airborne surveillance systems, including ADS-B, Mode S, and TCAS.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and requirements management and verification and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with certification and airworthiness processes.
  • Ability to analyze system behavior and interpret technical data.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team-based engineering environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three to seven years of related experience.
  • Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze and support integration of airborne surveillance systems, including ADS-B, Mode S transponders, and TCAS/ACAS systems.
  • Evaluate system architectures, interfaces, and interoperability with air traffic systems.
  • Review requirements and design artifacts.
  • Support compliance documentation and certification packages.
  • Analyze verification and validation results.
  • Support airworthiness activities, including flight clearance support and engineering assessments.
  • Perform systems engineering activities, including requirements analysis and traceability, design and interface evaluation, and integration and verification support.
  • Identify technical risks and support mitigation strategies.
  • Support laboratory, ground, and flight test activities.
  • Analyze system performance and compliance evidence.
  • Contribute to system performance assessments and issue identification.
  • Support basic hazard analysis and risk identification activities.
  • Work within Integrated Product Teams.
  • Coordinate with program offices, senior engineers, stakeholders, and test, integration, and software teams.
  • Provide task-level guidance to junior engineers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Naval Aviation or Department of Defense aviation programs.
  • Familiarity with certification standards, including RTCA, FAA, and ICAO.
  • Exposure to hazard analysis or risk assessment activities.
  • Experience with multi-platform or integrated avionics environments.
