Requirements
  • Five or more years of work experience in retail operations across multiple energy markets, including ERCOT, NYISO, and PJM.
  • Experience in the retail energy market.
  • Ability to acquire and scrutinize data with minimal supervision, analyze scenarios, and recommend a course of action or remediation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting, or five years of directly related retail operations experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet critical deadlines accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere.
  • Eligibility to work for any United States employer without current or future sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Investigate discrepancies in work processes using sound judgment and analytical skills, take appropriate corrective action, and collaborate with functional teams as necessary.
  • Develop and implement controls and reporting, beginning with non-standard manual pilots and transitioning successful solutions into automated, documented processes.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to analyze and adjust processes and functionality for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Establish controls to bridge identified gaps across business units.
  • Assist with gathering requirements and quality-assurance testing for new development projects that improve billing, customer experience, and reporting.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and adhere to compliance protocols established by Public Utility Commissions.
  • Assist with project planning, testing, and implementation of automated processes supporting data and analysis.
  • Adhere to Retail Market Guide protocols established by ERCOT.
  • Lead analysis of changes and proposed regulations, identify potential gaps in current processes, and formulate compliant solutions.
  • Deliver against key performance indicators.
  • Provide cross-functional support to peers and departments to develop end-to-end delivery processes.
  • Perform other ad hoc analysis and assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Preference for experience in the deregulated retail electricity sector, particularly with a strong emphasis on analytics.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel; VBA, Access, and SQL are bonuses but not required.
