Requirements
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in CNC machinery installs, repairs, and moves
  • CNC knowledge is mandatory
  • Proficient in operation of CNC lathes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
  • Experience in SolidWorks
  • Experience in G-Code creation
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in measuring and inspection of small metal parts
  • Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
  • Interpret 2D drawings
  • Create 3D CAD (with SolidWorks) and G-codes for CNC production
  • Set up and support CNC machines to produce several different standardized parts
  • Work with Purchasing department to select and maintain inventory of machining consumables (tooling, measuring devices, raw material, etc.)
  • Supervise Union operators contributing in the CNC work cell
  • Assist in cleaning production parts
  • Detailed inspection of production parts via. shadowgraph, CMM, go/ no-go gauges, micrometers, etc.
  • Set up and standardize operation of a laser engraving work cell
  • Assist in planning production runs on the CNC machine to optimize change-overs
  • Monitor running equipment and make adjustments as necessary
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues
  • Ensure all product meets/exceeds company quality standards
  • Ability to set up CNC work cell for production processes and provide instructions and training of Unionized employees who will run the machine.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machines as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Other production related duties as assigned
