Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least one year of practice-based experience or experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • The role requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, up to eight hours at a time.
  • The role requires continual finger use for patient care, writing, and computer entry; routine use of the upper extremities; occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds; occasional pushing of supply carts up to 30 pounds; and occasional pushing of wheelchairs with patients weighing up to 325 pounds.
  • The role requires the ability to stoop, bend, reach above shoulder level, hear normal conversation, and maintain good general, near, and peripheral vision.
  • The role requires communication, facilitation, presentation, compliance, time management, clear patient communication, listening, compassion, empathy, and a patient-centric approach.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a patient advocate who creates an exceptional patient experience and supports a patient-centric culture.
  • Provide practice-based administrative and patient support services.
  • Engage patients politely, promptly, and compassionately during practice-based interactions.
  • Perform patient clerical services including check-in, consent, check-out, pre-registration, real-time eligibility verification, registration, MyChart education, appointment and testing scheduling, point-of-service payment collection, and responses to form and medical-record requests.
  • Provide waiting-room concierge service and hands-on support for kiosk check-in.
  • Facilitate practice opening and closing procedures, practice cleanliness, incoming mail and delivery processing, cash management and reconciliation, and scanning and indexing incoming faxes.
  • Address in-basket clerical pool messages for practice-based team members.
  • Partner with Access Center Patient Engagement Partners on time-sensitive scheduling requests.
  • Connect Access Center Clinical Triage Specialists promptly with practice-based care team members for time-sensitive clinical inquiries.
  • Anticipate and address patient needs by partnering with organizational team members and departments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduation from an administrative training program is preferred.
