Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development credential is required.
  • A valid New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania driver's license with at least six months of experience and six or fewer points is required.
  • At least one year of progressive experience in residential services is required.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities, including the unique needs, challenges, and best practices for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, is required.
  • Experience developing and implementing individualized, person-centered life plans is required.
  • Familiarity with regulations, standards, and guidelines governing residential programs for persons with developmental disabilities, including Medicaid regulations and licensing requirements, is required.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation is required, including managing food-shopping and recreational-activity funds, petty cash, in-house ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for interacting with persons supported, families, advocates, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to respond calmly and effectively to crises or emergencies in a residential setting is required.
  • Experience maintaining accurate documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and regulatory compliance records, is required.
  • A strong commitment to safety is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee IRA operations in support of the Resident Manager and assume facility oversight in the Manager's absence.
  • Participate in direct support professional orientation, supervision, and evaluation.
  • Coordinate staff schedules, verify hours, and manage sick leave.
  • Procure and manage clothing and personal items.
  • Oversee petty cash and maintain detailed expenditure records.
  • Monitor and observe staff and consistently provide feedback on the implementation of individuals' services, treatment behavior, person-centered plans, morning and meal observations, community-inclusion feedback, outings, external-appointment feedback, meetings, and daily-goal performance.
  • Follow up with direct support professionals and work with managers, medication administration personnel, nurses, and behavioral intervention specialists to support medical and clinical care, plans, meetings, and data for all persons supported.
  • Follow up with direct support professionals on missed notations and communication logs, cross-referencing negated information.
  • Assist in developing and implementing staff action plans to help persons supported achieve personalized goals and outcomes.
  • Respond to requests from S&Q, Centralized Schedulers, and DQI Survey, and work with the assistant vice president in the managers' absence.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with program regulations, policies, and standards to uphold quality care and safety for persons supported.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance skills and improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate and communicate with external agencies, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive services and support for persons supported.
  • Implement and oversee emergency-preparedness protocols and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of persons supported during crises.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and reports related to persons-supported care, program activities, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with individuals, staff, community partners, advocates, and stakeholders to enhance support networks, promote inclusive opportunities, and advocate for the rights of persons supported.
Desired Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience is a plus.
  • An Associate's degree or higher qualifies for the $1.83 per hour education additive.
