Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources department, including hiring and interviewing staff and administering pay, benefits, leave, and workers’ compensation.
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the Business Unit’s human resources and talent strategy, particularly regarding current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances, including providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and handling terminations.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate and the Business Unit.
  • Oversee the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified applicants for production and administrative roles.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to understand the skills and competencies required for open positions.
  • Prepare internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, policies, and company updates.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices.
  • Review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assist in keeping the facility compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.
  • Work on site during the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of human resource management experience.
  • Professional in Human Resources, Senior Professional in Human Resources, Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional, or Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional certification.
  • Previous human resources experience in a manufacturing environment.

Printing company Mittera closing Jacksonville plant, affecting 100 jobs. The Iowa-based company said the loss of a customer prompted the closure. * By Mark Basch * | 9:21 a.m. May 20, 2026 * | 2 Free Articles Remaining! * Business Mittera Group Inc. filed a notice with the state May 18 saying it is closing its Jacksonville plant at 10301 Busch Drive N., affecting 100 full-time jobs. The printing company said in a letter filed under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act a decision by the plant's primary customer to move its work to another provider is prompting the closure. The letter said the 100 employees will be terminated between July 17 and the end of 2026. Employees will receive wages and benefits through their last day of employment and retirement and insurance benefits will be provided in accordance with the terms of applicable benefit plans. Des Moines, Iowa-based Mittera provides print, mail and marketing services. The company has plants in 11 states, including Florida facilities in Pompano Beach and Sunrise, according to its website.
