Requirements
  • Medical Assistant candidates must hold current certification or registration as CCMA, Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA), NCMA, Registered Medical Assistant through AMT, or complete an approved Medical Assistant training program and obtain certification or registration within 15 months of hire.
  • Alternatively, candidates may be graduates of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or equivalent and hold a current Ohio license.
  • Medical assistants who are uncertified or unregistered at hire cannot administer medication or enter Epic orders until the required credentials are obtained and verified.
  • Practical knowledge of the examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, and confidentiality is preferred.
  • Experience using electronic medical records is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist and deliver patient-care duties under the supervision of the provider or practice manager.
  • Provide administrative support throughout the practice.
  • Assist the provider with patient examinations and treatments and perform delegated duties under the provider's direction.
  • Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information in patient charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
  • Cross-train to perform duties that improve the efficiency and continuity of patient care delivery.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of clinical experience in a medical or physician office setting is preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of the examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, and confidentiality is preferred.
  • Experience using electronic medical records is preferred.
