Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications) are highly preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a health, safety, or environmental engineering role, preferably within (industry type: manufacturing, construction, chemical, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, policies, and best practices. Experience with risk assessment techniques, incident investigation, and environmental sustainability practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and safety management software. Knowledge of environmental monitoring equipment is a plus
  • OSHA 30-Hour or OSHA 40-Hour certification, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other environmental safety standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and environmental audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement related to safety, health, and environmental practices
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and training materials to promote a culture of safety within the organization
  • Lead investigations of workplace incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Promote environmental sustainability by identifying and implementing energy-efficient, waste reduction, and resource conservation programs
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on safety inspections, environmental assessments, and regulatory compliance. Ensure accurate documentation of safety data and reports
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on safety protocols, emergency response plans, and proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Work with management to continuously improve safety policies, procedures, and performance
  • Serve as the main point of contact during safety-related emergencies, ensuring effective response and recovery plans
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of safety systems, including personal protective equipment (PPE), fire protection systems, and emergency response tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a safe and healthy work environment across all levels of the organization
