Requirements
  • Beginning journalists—juniors, seniors or recent graduates (within one year of graduation) with reporting and writing experience at their school newspapers or elsewhere.
  • Direct experience writing, and ideally editing, in a journalism context.
  • Ability to multitask and meet daily deadlines.
  • Familiarity with technology as it relates to journalism.
  • U.S. citizenship, or holder of a green card or visa that will allow you to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in researching, writing and editing content for the print and digital editions of The Wall Street Journal's Opinion section.
  • Contribute as needed to social media and digital production tasks.
  • Be assigned to a department within the Opinion section—Features (Op-Eds and Columns); Arts in Review; or Books.
  • Pitch articles or projects to editors elsewhere in the Opinion section.
  • Complete separate applications for each Bartley Fellowship position (Opinion, Books or Arts in Review).
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with The Wall Street Journal's Opinion section content will be especially attractive to applicants.
  • Social media experience with a publication or brand would be a plus.
