Requirements
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in network administration involving networking equipment maintenance and upgrades, with familiarity with NIST Special Publications 800-37, 800-53, and 800-53A.
  • An active IT I level certification in accordance with AR 25-2 and an IAT II certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M must be maintained.
  • Solid knowledge of information security principles and practices and an advanced understanding of security protocols and standards.
  • Significant experience working with Linux and Windows servers and network monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of best practices for management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot networking components and operating systems in a cloud environment, including UNIX and Microsoft.
  • Expertise in security frameworks and regulatory requirements, including ISO, NIST, COBIT, HIPAA, and HITECH.
  • Ability to research and solve complex issues independently.
  • Ability to learn and apply new skills as needed.
  • Ability to communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Must be a United States citizen and possess an active Department of Defense security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Establish network specifications by analyzing user workflows, access, information, and security requirements and designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Evaluate network performance, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency, and plan and execute equipment selection, installation, configuration, and testing.
  • Define network policies and procedures and establish network connections and firewalls.
  • Maintain network performance through network monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, escalating problems to vendors when necessary.
  • Secure the network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation procedures and maintaining documentation.
  • Prepare users by designing and conducting training programs and providing references and support.
  • Upgrade the network by conferring with vendors and developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Maintain job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, and professional organizations.
  • Protect organizational information by keeping it confidential.
  • Support organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different requests and identifying opportunities to add value.
