Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably in multifamily housing development projects or manufacturing sectors, required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one is preferred.
  • Demonstrates a high level of expertise and advanced technical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting process, and site design principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address schedule-related challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and oversee the civil aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, planned schedule and environmental standards.
  • Work in collaboration with in-house design, development and construction teams.
  • Assist in identifying and addressing zoning and permitting requirements (easements etc.).
  • Create a system to comprehensively and expediently conduct technical and feasibility studies for multiple projects, including site investigations, review of 3rd party reports to assess project viability.
  • Develop detailed project designs and blueprints using advanced engineering software and tools.
  • Collaborate with development, construction operations, design teams, and other professionals to define project requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Creative problem solving with regards to dirt balance and construction sequencing as it relates to the overall project design.
  • Prepare and review civil engineering drawings, specifications and reports using advanced engineering software (Civil3D, AutoCAD and Revit).
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local municipalities and agencies while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to achieve efficient and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Support construction teams with design clarifications, site visits and problem-solving during construction phase. Identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring project objectives and timelines are met.
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and project updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative materials, methods, or technologies to improve project efficiency and sustainability.
  • Lead and participate in site derisking exercises to elevate issues, and thereafter expediently work in implementing solutions to mitigate.
