Portfolio Business Development Manager

Job Description

As Portfolio Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving proactive sales and new business growth for two key portfolio properties: Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Sunshine Coast Convention Centre and Pullman Cairns International the number one luxury Accor product in Cairns. The exciting part of this role is that Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort & Sunshine Coast Convention Centre has just completed a back-to-bare concrete upgrade of hotel conference rooms and a 3.5-million-dollar AV installation. The hotel is also starting its 25-million-dollar rooms refurbishment this month and will further showcase the outstanding facilities of the Convention Centre and all things Sunshine Coast.

While working across the broader Shakespeare Property Group portfolio, your primary sales focus will be on identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities for these two properties. You will build strategic relationships across key corporate, group and MICE markets, bringing new clients and revenue opportunities to the hotels.

This is a highly visible commercial role where your success will be measured by your ability to create opportunities, convert business and deliver tangible revenue growth. You will work closely with Portfolio Revenue and Marketing teams while taking ownership of your sales pipeline, client relationships and market activity.

About the Role

• Drive proactive sales and new business generation for Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort and Pullman Cairns International.
• Develop and convert high-value opportunities across corporate, MICE and key business segments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies and key decision-makers.
• Support broader portfolio sales initiatives and commercial strategies.
• Develop tactical sales approaches to secure significant new business.
• Partner with Revenue and Marketing teams to maximise commercial performance.
• Use market intelligence and performance insights to identify new opportunities.
• Lead sales calls, client presentations, site inspections and familiarisation activities.
• Represent the portfolio at industry events and key networking opportunities.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and report on activity, opportunities and results.

Qualifications

About You

We are looking for a highly driven and commercially astute sales professional with a proven track record of proactive business development and new business conversion. You will be confident building relationships with senior decision-makers, developing new markets and turning opportunities into measurable results.

You will bring:

• Proven success in proactive hotel, hospitality, tourism or related business development sales.
• A strong track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
• Extensive corporate, group and MICE sales experience with an established client network.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers.
• A highly proactive, self-motivated and results-driven approach.
• The ability to work strategically across multiple properties and markets.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to use market insights to inform sales activity.
• Willingness to travel to support portfolio properties, clients and key business opportunities.
