Requirements
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) or Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from accredited dental school
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana
Responsibilities
  • Provides dental care in the areas of diagnosis, preventative dentistry, pedodontics, removable prosthodontic, endodontic, fixed prosthodontic, and oral surgery.
  • Properly documents all procedures and treatments for quality review and billing purposes.
  • Follows established standards, practices and protocols.
  • Provides supervision and direction, with the assistance of the Practice Manager, to dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other assigned personnel.
  • Helps provide in-house training with the Dental Service Coordinator.
  • Keeps current on latest techniques and tools of dental hygiene.
  • Mentors and teaches Dental Hygienists and Expanded Function Dental Assistants, especially on new or emerging techniques and tools of dental hygiene.
  • Serves as a member of the Local Management Team (LMT) if appropriate. With the local management team, monitors monthly repayments to ensure that patient care is being delivered in a quality and cost effective manner and other clinical resources (staff hours, supplies, drugs) are being utilized appropriately and within budgetary guidelines.
