Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Hold a current, active Pharmacy license granted by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in a clean room or infusion pharmacy setting, or 3 years of experience plus knowledge of non-sterile compounding and medication therapy management, completion of an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Residency Program, or equivalent experience approved by the Vice President of Pharmacy and/or Senior Vice President of Clinical Services.
  • Have at least 3 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing employees.
  • Have at least 2 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets, or completion of an ASHP-accredited Residency Program or equivalent experience approved by the National Director of Pharmacy and/or Vice President of Clinical Services.
  • Have experience compounding sterile products and managing patient care.
  • Have experience overseeing purchasing and inventory processes for pharmaceutical and related substances and supplies.
  • Have reliable transportation for home visits; if using a personal vehicle, possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Maintain active membership in a related state or national clinical, pharmaceutical, or home health care organization.
  • Have experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Have experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, meeting service quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Have basic-level skills in Microsoft Word.

Responsibilities
  • Determine patient suitability for home care and supervise, monitor, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of patient care provided by pharmacy staff.
  • Manage daily activities to support effective operations and communications.
  • Direct pharmacy department activities and schedule pharmacy staff to meet patients' pharmaceutical-care needs.
  • Develop and mentor staff through onboarding, communication, training, development opportunities, and performance management processes.
  • Oversee product purchasing, inventory, budget, and equipment management.
  • Assist the General Manager in preparing, securing approval for, and implementing departmental operating and expenditure budgets, and operate within those guidelines.
  • Evaluate and oversee the purchase, management, and security of medications, pumps, and medical supplies in accordance with company policies and formulary guidelines.
  • Support sales professionals and the General Manager by accurately explaining the scope and availability of company services.
  • Meet with managed care organizations and other accounts to provide education about available services.
  • Serve as Office Administrator with the Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager when the General Manager is absent.
  • Collect and organize patient-specific information to prevent, detect, and resolve medication-related problems and make medication therapy recommendations.
  • Monitor clinical staff documentation on pharmacy care plans for home-care patients using monitoring data and other relevant patient-specific information.
  • Evaluate competency in the use of pharmacokinetic principles and formulas.
  • Ensure medications are prepared and dispensed using appropriate techniques and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is accurately calibrated and medications are appropriately concentrated, compatible, stable, and stored.
  • Coordinate and participate in pharmacy department on-call responsibilities and ensure reliable pharmacy coverage.
  • Provide pharmacy services when scheduled to be on call.
  • Manage investigational drug products according to established regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with accreditation, legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes within the state and out of state.

  • Board certification in Nutrition Support Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapy, or another clinical pharmacy practice area.

Option Care Health Q2 beats expectations with $1.4B revenue, narrows full-year guidance

However, CID-related pressure is expected to reduce 2026 revenue by roughly 600 basis points and gross profit by $55 million. The home and alternate-site infusion provider maintained its full-year revenue guidance at $5.675 billion to $5.775 billion. Adjusted EBITDA guidance was narrowed to $480 million to $495 million, and adjusted EPS guidance to $1.85 to $1.92. The company repurchased $150 million of shares, nearly 5% of shares outstanding.

Option Care Health posts weakest Q1 among home health stocks, shares drop 27%

Option Care Health, the largest independent provider of home infusion services in the US, reported Q1 revenues of $1.35 billion, up 1.3% year on year but missing analyst expectations by 3.3%. The company operates 177 locations across 43 states with over 4,500 clinicians. Chief executive John Rademacher acknowledged the "mixed performance" and expressed dissatisfaction with revenue growth momentum. Full-year guidance also fell short of analyst expectations. Across the senior health, home health and hospice sector, seven tracked companies reported a satisfactory Q1, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 0.9% on average. However, Option Care Health posted the weakest performance against analyst estimates despite raising full-year guidance. The stock has fallen 27.1% since reporting, currently trading at $21.59.
