Accounting Manager

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of private industry experience at a SaaS company is highly preferred, and public accounting (ex. Big 4) experience is a plus.
- CPA is required
- Strong understanding of GAAP (ASC 606, ASC 718 for example) and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Proficient in NetSuite (SuiteBlling) is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and a team player with excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task and a high sense of urgency
- Own core accounting responsibilities including month-end close process, account reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition reporting and ASC 606 compliance through contract review and approval of subscriptions added to NetSuite.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Oversee the Customer Acquisition Costs (deferred commissions) calculations and ensure amounts are appropriate based on ASC 606.
- Assist the VP of Finance and Corporate Controller with the budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and financial modeling.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and other financial reporting obligations.
- Oversee sales tax compliance ensuring reporting requirements and filings are complete and accurate.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure policy, procedures and internal controls are updated in accordance with US GAAP.
- Ability to research and reconcile discrepancies and verify documents in accordance with accounting procedures and policies.
- Seek opportunities for process improvements and implement operational accounting efficiencies through improved policies and control enhancements.
- Participate in special projects, system improvements, or ad hoc analyzes/projects as assigned.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
