Requirements
  • An appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings is required, and conduct must support the mission and purpose of the Church.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must successfully pass Diocesan background screening and Safe Environment Training.
  • The ability to communicate, listen to, and understand spoken information is required.
  • The ability to read and understand written information is required.
  • Strong written and spoken English language skills are required.
  • The candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • The candidate must be willing to work under stressful conditions and function well under pressure.
  • The role requires heavy physical effort, including climbing up to 15 feet, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with light maintenance services for buildings, equipment, and property.
  • Assist with minor preventive maintenance tasks for buildings, equipment, and property.
  • Provide janitorial support services to staff.
  • Clean and perform light preventive maintenance on equipment, tools, and buildings.
  • Remove trash by emptying containers, transporting materials to disposal areas, and recycling materials.
  • Clean and resupply restrooms.
  • Set up and break down equipment and furniture for functions when required.
  • Identify, report, and remove possible safety hazards.
  • Identify and report unauthorized persons on the premises.
  • Maintain building interiors by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures; washing windows, counters, walls, and woodwork; and making minor structural repairs.
  • Sweep and scrub floors and vacuum carpeting.
  • Perform general cleaning and disinfecting using approved solvents and appropriate tools.
  • Perform painting, minor plumbing repairs, minor electrical repairs, and other routine maintenance.
