  • Experience with primary data collection through mixed methods (interviews, prototype tests, observations, surveys, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with non-researchers, construed broadly
  • Native or professional proficiency in English and another language - including data collection and analysis entirely in that other language. We are especially interested in Spanish, Tagalog, Hindi (or other major languages in India), and Portuguese
  • Experience in cross-cultural or international research
  • Post-graduate degree in social sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology), human-computer interaction, or human-centered design and engineering. This degree may still be in progress (with good academic standing)
  • Curiosity about Remitly and its values, Remitly's products, and above all, Remitly's customer base of first-generation immigrants and emerging market customers
  • Own a specific end-to-end project that helps Remitly to create a cohesive multi-product customer experience, particularly focused on those living in specific emerging markets
  • Create outputs that allow for scale (e.g., behavioral personas, customer journey maps, new recruitment systems and strategies, etc)
  • Provide consultation on and direction to product designers for usability and prototype tests when needed
  • Educate and inform others at Remitly about your project and what you learn along the way in conversations and large-group presentations
  • Contribute to team-wide research projects spanning product, business, and marketing
