Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development credential is required.
  • Three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Valid California Pharmacy Technician registration is required.
  • Completion of the Community Memorial Healthcare sterile compounding core skills evaluation within 90 days of hire is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Pharmacy department by preparing or distributing medications for patient use.
  • Perform all assigned duties responsibly as an inpatient pharmacy technician.
  • Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, transcribe abbreviated and symbolized information from physicians' orders onto patient medication profiles through manual and computer entry.
  • Select and/or prepare medications, pharmaceutical products, and intravenous admixtures.
  • Perform drug distribution duties, pre-packaging, stocking, and maintenance of drug inventory in automated dispensing cabinets and Carousel.
  • Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding.
  • Maintain records and perform billing activities.
  • Ensure medication security.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pharmacy Technician Board Certification is preferred.
  • A certificate from a college or technical school is preferred.
