Requirements
  • Bachelors in a related technical area of study, such as Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Maths, Chemistry, etc., required; a postgraduate degree (Masters or PhD) is preferred
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, including test planning, execution, and automation
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience using, designing, and implementing quantum application software tools; familiarity with quantum computing concepts and quantum programming languages is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in software testing methodologies, including unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest, Selenium) and scripting languages (e.g., Python)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment tools and processes
  • Strong programming abilities in relevant languages (e.g., Python, C+)
  • Ability to critically evaluate and analyze software tools, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous approach to identifying issues and ensuring software quality
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities
  • Proven ability to work effectively across departments, sites, and time zones; a team player who contributes positively to the work environment
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-moving start-up environment with a results-driven approach
  • A results-driven 'doer', preferably with experience in a high-throughput, rapid-delivery work environment.
Responsibilities
  • Create detailed test plans and test cases for quantum applications software tools, covering functional, performance, usability, and security aspects
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using appropriate tools and languages
  • Work closely with developers to understand software features and specifications, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
  • Incorporate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback
  • Document and track software defects using issue-tracking systems, providing clear and actionable reports to the development team
  • Advocate for and ensure adherence to software quality standards and best practices throughout the development process
  • Evaluate tools for quantum simulation, algorithm programming, compilation and optimization, resource estimation, and more
  • Offer insights and recommendations on tool improvements, feature enhancements, and potential integrations with other technologies
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in quantum computing and software quality engineering to apply best practices
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on testing activities, results, and quality metrics for stakeholders.
