Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in spacecraft operations, mission control, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of successful mission planning and execution for small spacecraft.
  • Proficiency in spacecraft operations software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft systems, including propulsion, avionics, and communication.
  • Experience with telemetry data analysis and anomaly resolution.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and C/C++.
  • Experience with software development tools like Git, Jenkins, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of satellite operations software, such as GMAT, STK, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by mission schedules.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute detailed mission plans for small spacecraft operations.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission objectives are met.
  • Monitor spacecraft during mission operations and respond to anomalies in real-time.
  • Operate and control spacecraft from mission control centers.
  • Conduct pre-launch tests, simulations, and rehearsals to ensure mission readiness.
  • Analyze telemetry data to monitor spacecraft health and performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot spacecraft anomalies and system failures.
  • Implement corrective actions and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Analyze mission data and generate comprehensive reports on mission outcomes.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for future mission improvements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of mission operations and procedures.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in spacecraft technology and operations.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to enhance mission efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in post-mission debriefs and contribute to lessons learned.
