Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Knowledge of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance.
  • Proficiency with computers and practice management systems, including patient registration and electronic check-in.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage tasks and time effectively without compromising work quality.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with patient records.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices based on the We Believe Behavioral Framework.
  • Support the Perfect Patient Experience process by helping patients come into the office and ensuring they are comfortable during visits.
  • Schedule appointments to support smooth and productive healthcare-provider schedules.
  • Interact and communicate with patients and guests in the reception area during wait times.
  • Answer telephones promptly and handle calls efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Complete all tasks on the front-office checklist daily.
  • Post payments to patient accounts in accordance with company policies.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in the practice management system for patient registration and electronic check-in, and keep account information accurate and current.
  • Check patients in efficiently, obtain required consents, notify the back-office team of arrivals, and present pertinent patient information.
  • Confirm patient appointments according to office policies or at least two days in advance.
  • Return and resolve patient messages received from the Contact Center promptly.
  • Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
  • Understand business imperatives and how the role affects metrics.
  • Support the PDS Brand framework and make decisions consistent with it.
  • Become knowledgeable about and support clinicians with patient education regarding the Mouth-Body Connection.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and address others professionally and respectfully.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business.
