Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural analysis on aircraft primary structures.
  • Experience in both metallic and composite structures.
  • Working knowledge of finite element method techniques and CATIA V5.
  • Experience in fatigue analysis of aircraft structures.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related curriculum applicable to the job position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions.
  • Thirteen years of experience in the specific technical discipline, or 15 years of broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience credit for related advanced degrees is limited to two years for a master's degree and four years for a doctorate in applicable fields.
Responsibilities
  • Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within the established scope.
  • Make technical decisions and recommendations recognized as authoritative and having an important impact on extensive engineering activities.
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge.
  • Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Act independently to determine improved methods and procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Work under consultative direction and use independent judgment to accomplish objectives.
  • Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.
  • Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of importance where engineering precedents are lacking, in areas critical to the program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
