Requirements
  • A minimum of a nursing degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices is required.
  • At least two years of experience, preferably in a long-term care facility, is required.
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is required, including the ability to read technical procedures and policy and procedure manuals.
  • The ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.
  • The ability to make independent decisions and solve practical problems is required.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, including the ability to supervise other personnel, is required.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and of laws, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities, is required.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of residents are required.
  • A current, unencumbered, active registered nurse license in the state is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Required continuing education and licensing must be maintained, and the employee must remain in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
  • The ability to move intermittently, work throughout the nursing service area, and assist with moving or evacuating residents is required.
  • The ability to push, pull, move, or carry at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of five feet and for a minimum distance of 50 feet is required.
  • A medical and physical examination and compliance with the facility's general health requirements are required.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned tour of duty in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the nursing department's daily operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and update written nursing-service policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that nursing service personnel comply with the Nursing Service Procedures Manual and their job descriptions.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations for the Director concerning nursing service operations.
  • Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to maintain continuity of care.
  • Participate in the facility's nursing-service quality assurance program and government inspections.
  • Review and update resident discharge plans and assist with planning nursing services for discharge.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, and complete accident and incident reports.
  • Attend facility committee meetings and prepare nursing-service reports and information for committees.
  • Ensure adequate licensed nurse and certified nursing assistant staffing for each shift.
  • Develop work assignments and delegate administrative authority and responsibility to charge nurses.
  • Make daily rounds, monitor absenteeism, review personnel complaints, and report staffing or operational issues to the Director.
  • Participate in performance evaluations, determine shift staffing requirements, and make recommendations concerning employee dismissals and transfers.
  • Administer departmental disciplinary action fairly and ensure compliance with facility policies.
  • Provide and oversee nursing care, including admissions, resident assessments, physician coordination, care planning, medication administration monitoring, treatments, and resident and family communication.
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary, start intravenous lines, obtain specimens, take vital signs, and monitor seriously ill residents.
  • Review nurses' notes, medication cards, treatment schedules, and resident care plans for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules and ensure compliance with medication storage, administration, and stop-order procedures.
  • Participate in developing and delivering in-service training and clinical supervision for nurse aide trainees.
  • Support safety, sanitation, infection control, hand hygiene, emergency preparedness, and personal protective equipment procedures.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary nursing work areas, resident rooms, treatment areas, equipment, and supplies.
  • Recommend equipment and supply needs, maintain adequate stock levels, and support preventive maintenance and safe equipment operation.
  • Participate in developing resident assessments and written plans of care, and ensure that nursing personnel follow each resident's care plan.
  • Recommend nursing-service adjustments and equipment needs to support quality care and report suspected fraud.

  • Knowledge and experience with PCC are preferred.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.

PACS Group has appointed Carey P. Hendrickson as chief financial officer, effective 27 April 2026. Hendrickson brings nearly four decades of financial leadership across healthcare, senior living and media sectors. Most recently, Hendrickson served as CFO of U.S. Physical Therapy, overseeing 779 outpatient clinics across 44 states. He previously held CFO roles at Capital Senior Living Corporation, managing 128 communities across 23 states, and Belo Corp. PACS Group has announced that co-founder and chief financial officer Mark Hancock will retire on 30 June 2026. He will continue serving on the company's board of directors as vice chairman. Hancock co-founded PACS in 2013 with Jason Murray, starting with two post-acute care facilities in San Diego. Under his leadership, the company expanded to 323 facilities across 17 states, serving over 31,700 patients daily and generating $5.29 billion in revenue in 2025, representing 29.3% year-on-year growth. Dr Conway currently serves as CEO of Optum, UnitedHealth Group's health services division with revenues exceeding $200 billion.
