Requirements
  • Candidates must hold a current TS/SCI clearance, either active or currently held in an editable or re-activatable status within the two-year window.
  • A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, is required.
  • Staff-level candidates must have 8+ years of experience operating and automating large-scale cloud environments, with a track record of driving cross-team infrastructure improvement.
  • Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider—AWS, Azure, or GCP—in areas such as identity and access management, networking, accounts, subscriptions, projects, and audit logging is required.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and CI/CD for infrastructure changes is required.
  • Experience working in or with security-sensitive or regulated environments and translating requirements into concrete technical controls is required.
  • Familiarity with access review processes, policy baselines, and audit evidence for cloud environments is required.
  • Experience running high-availability, security-critical services, including on-call responsibilities and incident management, is required.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across distributed systems, including the ability to navigate ambiguous issues spanning multiple teams and platforms, are required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, automate, and operate identity and access management, account, subscription, and project lifecycles across AWS, Azure, and GCP, enforcing least-privilege and standardized access patterns at scale.
  • Review, implement, and continuously improve cloud identity and access policies using IAM, Okta, and Opal to align with security standards and audit requirements.
  • Build and maintain reliable, observable automation and tooling to apply cloud changes, including roles, policies, accounts, and networking, safely and repeatedly.
  • Eliminate operational toil, perform root-cause analysis, and codify fixes into infrastructure and tooling.
  • Own and improve security and audit logging data pipelines from cloud providers into internal systems, ensuring timely and accurate data for detection, investigations, and audits.
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Audit teams to provide evidence, clarifications, and policy updates that keep environments aligned with evolving standards.
  • Operate and improve specialized, highly regulated environments such as FedRAMP and GovCloud, including release management, patching cadences, and secure access workflows.
  • Ensure high availability and resiliency for critical security and access infrastructure across regulated environments.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for high-severity incidents affecting cloud accounts, IAM, or security data pipelines.
  • Partner with product engineering, security engineering, and field teams during incidents to restore service and harden systems for the future.
Desired Qualifications
  • Possession of a current Counterintelligence or Full Scope polygraph is highly desired.
  • Experience with Okta, Opal, or similar identity and access tooling is desirable.
  • Experience operating secure admin workstations or comparable hardened access patterns is desirable.
  • Experience migrating cloud accounts or subscriptions during mergers and acquisitions or large-scale reorganizations is desirable.

Databricks provides a unified data and AI platform built around a lakehouse architecture that blends data lakes and data warehouses. It helps organizations ingest, store, manage, and analyze data from various sources, then apply analytics and machine learning at scale. The platform offers automated ETL, secure data sharing, and high-performance analytics, with built-in support for AI workloads and model deployment. Unlike traditional single-purpose data stores, Databricks combines data engineering, data science, and business analytics in one system, aiming to streamline data workflows and make insights readily actionable. Its goal is to enable businesses to manage data more efficiently, accelerate insight generation, and deploy AI and analytics across diverse teams through a subscription-based platform and professional services.

Coatue leads $3B Databricks investment at $134B valuation

Coatue Management is reportedly leading a $3 billion investment in Databricks, according to recent reports. The data analytics company previously raised roughly $5 billion earlier in 2026 at a $134 billion valuation. Databricks sells a lakehouse platform combining data lake and data warehouse capabilities and has expanded into AI software for enterprise applications. The company reported $5.4 billion in revenue run rate in February, up over 65% year on year, which grew to $6.9 billion by June. The earlier financing round included $2 billion in debt capacity intended to fund AI products, acquisitions and employee liquidity. At its current valuation, Databricks exceeds Snowflake's market capitalisation of approximately $83 billion. Management has indicated the company may remain private until market conditions improve.
